Electric City Water Park, Great Falls - Discovering Montana (2024)

Electric City Water Park in Great Falls is one of the coolest spots in summer. The park provides a range of water attractions that prove particularly popular throughout the warmer months in Montana.

Locals from near and far in the city and beyond come here to slide, surf, plunge, have fun, and relax. There is also a small wading pool for young children who haven’t yet gained full confidence in deeper water.

Attractions at the Electric City Water Park include the Lazy River, the Power Tower slides, the huge Mitchell Pool, and the state’s largest children’s water play structure.

There has previously been a full Flow Rider within the park as well but this year the surfing section will not be operational.

All attractions within the park complex are surrounded by trees, grass, and shade, which makes for a nice day out along with the fun in the water.

Electric City Water Park typically opens for the season in early June until late August through Labor Day. It operates daily from 12 pm to 6 pm and until 8 pm on Wednesdays during the high season.

The park is implementing a few changes this summer, which you can read about in this post. To get to the Electric City Waterpark off the I-15, take the exit at Central Avenue and head east.

Take a right when you see River Drive and then your next immediate left which leads into the park.

Changes at the Park this Season

There are a few changes coming into play at the park this year from previous seasons. Rather unfortunately, the surfing section of the popular Flow Rider will be closed, although the Lazy River and the slide are still open.

Tubes are available and are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Changes in price related to the closure of the FlowRider have been brought into play in an attempt to compensate. This means visitors will now pay one flat fee that covers everything in the park.

The good news though is that while the Flow Rider won’t be operating, a new attraction has been introduced by way of the Ker-splash Climbing Wall.

The Ker-splash is difficult to miss with its brightly-colored, red, yellow, and orange climbing wall panels and hand holds.

The climbing wall is designed for use by both children and adults who enjoy a fun challenge—not to mention the exhilarating plunge back into the water after the climb.

Other Features of the Park and Pricing

The main features at Electric City Water Park include two water slides—the Power Tower Plunge—a couple of exciting tower-style serpentine-style water slides starting from 20-foot platforms.

Then there is the Mitchell Pool, which is apparently the largest heated outdoor swimming pool in the entire state. The L-shaped design of the pool features a competition-size pool with an extension for deeper water, with two straight slides to help your descent into it.

And let’s not forget the Little Squirts Soak Zone where the wading pool and a few other features are located.

Lap swimming is also available at the water park before it opens for the day’s other activities Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.

One lane remains open all day specifically for this but some people like to beat any potential crowds and get in an early session.

Water Walking is another activity typically held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 am to 7:45 am and it costs the same as lap swimming.

Rentals are also available between 6 pm and 10 pm from Monday to Friday for anyone who wants to host their own water park bash!

There are also some fairly large, grassy areas with trees for shade, which makes a great spot for some lunch or another type of snack or refreshment. The park has a party deck and a concession stand that sells hot dogs, hamburgers, and cold drinks.

Electric City Water Park has also introduced new pricing structures this month which means adults are now classed as 13-plus at the park, and the price is $8.00.

This fee allows access to the entire park, as does the lower price for under-13s who are classed as youths and pay $5.00. Other concessions are available.

Electric City Water Park – The Bottom Line

At the end of the day, although Electric City Waterpark is only really a local municipal leisure facility, it does provide a great morning, afternoon, or even a full day’s worth of family fun outdoors.

The prices are also reasonable considering the size of the park and there is no limit on time or fun.

Electric City Water Park is a great place for locals and also for anyone else passing through the vicinity of Great Falls who needs a break or a stop-gap.

Check it out for hours of fun in the sun without it feeling too overcrowded as you might expect some of the bigger regional and national water parks to be.
