makes sense to put Peru back in as Bannister is very familiar with him and his potential

Sorry, but I don't share the enthusiasm for Perunovich. Despite his lack of NHL experience, I think what you see now is what you get. I doubt he is going to improve defensively, and his offensive contribution is not sufficient to justify his defensive shortcomings. We just don't have the horses to shelter another defenseman. He is more of what we do not need.

I get it, but between the 2 of them, I'd prefer Peru over Krug. they just gotta find a way to move him

and honestly, I'd prolly take Rosen over both lol

I agree but when we trade him ta Detroit type team he will suddenly play 1D minutes

I think Perunovich might have one more level to his game, but I think his ceiling at this point is a #5/6 offensive/PP specialist. That kind of player can be a solid asset if you have the personnel to shelter them (and if they aren't overpaid like Krug). I agree with you that we don't have the personnel right now, so he doesn't provide a whole lot of value to us at the moment.

But whether you want to hold onto him or trade him, the main thing we need to do is give him more NHL games. His value is pretty low right now so if he can get some more games under his belt maybe he will improve which would be good for those who want to keep him and for those who want to trade him. And if he doesn't improve/plays poorly, so be it. It only helps our draft position and we get a clearer picture of where he is as a player.

"We want to put him in a game we feel would build his confidence and give him the opportunity to have success" - Bannister on Perunovich

Damn. That is a damning statement. We can't even shelter him against mediocre teams. The Sens weren't bad enough to give him an opportunity for success. We have to wait to play Chicago to have the other team be bad enough that we can shelter him. Hey, let's keep a roster spot open for a player that can only have confidence against the 3 worst teams in the league, and still has to be extremely sheltered against them getting 70% ozone starts.

I still like Scotty’s long term potential, he won a hobey baker award and then torched the AHL, I think he can be effective at the NHL level they just need to be patient with him. He’s not a defensive stalwart by any means but I’ve seen him make several smart defensive reads and he’s a tremendous passer and good on breakouts.

I also really like Tucker’s game a lot too and think they need to patient with him as well b/c I like his long term potential. I want to see Tucker paired with Parayko at some point as a shut down pair once he gets some more games under his belt.

Disagree. We need to punch the Hawks in the mouth, take their lunch money, and fart on their pillows.
